I had an absolute blast at Art in the Garden this year. This was my first ever vending event, and I could not have picked a better event to have learned. It was a full experience, and every single visitor and person that I encountered was so positive and kind, and encouraging to one another. The garden itself is so beautiful. There was so much talent, that it was hard not to spend everything that I made on other great creations by others. In reality, that will probably always be my downfall... I love handmade things, especially unique artwork. Having live music play during the entire event, was so enjoyable. Sharing my hobby and art with others, is something I will never forget. I hope to return next year.

This was the first time I let my child wander semi-freely at an event as well, because I knew she was safe and surrounded by kind people, and a few friends who could keep an eye on her. My husband attended with me, and supported me by my side for the entire event. It was special to get to share this moment with my family.

As you know, I have a full-time career that does take up quite a bit of my time. I certainly do not have the time to dedicate to vending often, and certainly never full time. I leave this experience feeling refreshed, as if I had a week vacation. How rare it is for an experience to leave that impression. I'm very thankful.

It's always been a dream of mine, along with owning my own yarn shop. I'm thankful to have taken the risk, and enjoyed the experience.

I've done the mock up for tomorrow's Art in the Garden event at Mandala Gardens !!

Come see me tomorrow 9am to 5pm, then stay after dark and enjoy the evening! Bring a percussion instrument and join the drum circle or jam to some live music. Plenty of fun for everyone!

We are getting closer to the Art In The Garden event at Mandala Gardens Marion, Il --it is literally next Saturday!! As you know, I had been in retirement of making finished products for profit, so I've joined as a vendor this year for the experience. I will be sharing the art and skill side of crochet, and share some of my more decorative, abstract work for sale.

I'll be bringing a collection of circular crocheted freeform wall art, and circular crocheted mandala wall art for sale.

I will be selling reclaimed yarn from recycled sweaters, "art yarn" because I believe deeply in using the resources we have and reducing fiber waste. You can't find these yarns in stores, and they're not mass-produced.

I will have a bin of mixed acrylic fibers, for a communal project-- a free - form art piece to honor this event where any fellow crocheters can add to it. You can also crochet along with me as I work on said project, or take a hook and some yarn as you explore the garden, visit vendors and listen to the live music (Please just return the crochet hooks and yarn when done :) ).

I will be accepting credit card payments (square reader), and cash.

I hope to see you there, thank you so much for supporting me, and for supporting the art community in the town of Marion.

I made my colorful sweater tank top project into a purse, on a whim! I figured I will get to show off the beautiful yarn better this way, and honestly who doesn't want a new purse?? Now I just have to line it with some fantastic fabric, and it will be ready for use. I'm really happy I made this choice.
