We've made it to the last Tattoosday of August, which means another excellent month of tattooing all of you guys! If you missed out, don't worry- we're here every Tuesday through Saturday, from 12pm to 7pm, with the doors open and our chairs ready. Have you been thinking about a new piece? Maybe you even have a cool design picked out, but there is something you aren't sure about. Stop by and see us, give us a call, or send us a message, we're happy to help make certain that every client gets what they hoped for and feels comfortable with the process from design to application- and beyond! Here we are, on the last Tattoosday of July! Another month in the books, filled with tattooing and meeting new faces- we hope your month was just as fun as ours. We are starting off a fresh week with another Tattoosday, that day of the week that we take the opportunity to goof around and tell you about our shop. Sometimes we sprinkle in some fun tattoo-related history. But today, we are giving a shout out to all of you guys; the cool cats who come down and get inked up or have some fresh metal installed, no matter if you've only been once or if you're here so often we know you by name. But even if you haven't stopped into the shop, if you take the time to read our posts or like or share them, we appreciate you too! So a big thanks to all our clients and friends this Tattoosday, and we hope to see all of you soon!

It has been a while since we dipped into some history on Tattoosday, so here we go! Did you know that the first tattoo machine was patented in 1891 by New York based artist Samuel O'Reilly? Only twenty days later, an artist by the name of Tom Riley from London would file a patent for a the first single-coil machine, produced using a modified doorbell assembly. It wouldn't be until 1929 that Percy Waters of Michigan patented the two-coil machine design, which would serve as the traditional industry standard for decades. Necessity has always been the mother of invention, and these artists saw a need and created something that we still use a version of today. We hope you found our little trip into history interesting, and hope to see you soon for some fresh ink of your own!

In a misdirected wildlife conservation effort, Blue Ridge Tattoo Company has captured three of the most creative artists we could find and set them loose in our shop. These guys are absolute beasts when it comes to tattooing, and they've been keeping themselves busy by running some wild ink on YOU guys. But that doesn't mean they're too busy for something new- in fact, they're always ready for something new because BRTC does walk-ins as well as appointments. So if you're looking for a little walk on the wild side, all you gotta do is step into the jungle(don't worry, it is air-conditioned). We open the doors every Tuesday-Saturday from 12pm-7pm, and you can reach us through messenger or on our shop line at (828) 559-0694.
