THIS WEEKEND: LEGO fans from across Southern Illinois and beyond will have the chance to explore massive custom creations, interactive activities and vendors this weekend as the Ultimate Brick Show returns to The Pavilion in Marion.

The family friendly event will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 9, from noon to 4 p.m. at The Pavilion, 1602 Sioux Drive.

The show features large scale LEGO displays built by enthusiasts from around the country, along with hands on building activities, a community LEGO mosaic, a kids build challenge and vendors offering LEGO sets, minifigures and specialty items. Organizers say visitors will also have opportunities to meet experienced builders and see custom creations not typically found in stores.

According to organizers, the event is designed for builders and collectors of all ages, whether they are longtime LEGO fans or families looking for a weekend activity. The annual show has become one of the area’s larger family events centered around brick building and creativity.

Advance admission is $12 for ages 4 and older through Thursday, with tickets increasing to $15 at the door. Children ages 3 and younger are admitted free. Tickets and additional event information are available through The Ultimate Brick Show website.
