A Friendly Reminder to Slow Down

We’ve received concerns about speeding throughout the neighborhoods surrounding Front Street, Lewis Street, and the connecting side streets.

These streets are home to families, and during the summer they’re filled with children playing, neighbors walking, runners, cyclists, and pedestrians enjoying the area. A few extra miles per hour can make a significant difference when it comes to keeping everyone safe.

Please take a moment to slow down, obey the posted speed limits, and stay alert as you travel through these residential streets.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.

Week 7 of the Silvershell Program was an amazing finale to the summer! Campers got creative making little turtles, colorful fans, vibrant tie-dye shirts, and adorable animal sculptures from clothespins. We wrapped up the week with our much anticipated end of camp pizza party, and to top it all off, we enjoyed an exciting trip to Roger Williams Park Zoo. Thank you to everyone who joined us this summer we hope you had as much fun as we did. See you next year!

Week 6 was a blast!
Our campers got creative with popsicle stick puzzles, heartfelt gratitude letters, colorful bookmarks, and playful puppets. The highlight of the week was our Friday trip to Water Wizz, where everyone had a fantastic time zipping down the slides and soaking up the sun!

As we look ahead, it's hard to believe that Week 7 will be our final week of Silvershell 2025—but don’t worry, we’ve got an exciting lineup of activities planned to end the summer on a high note!

Week 5 of the Silvershell Program was full of fun and creativity!
The week kicked off on Monday with the campers drawing portraits of their counselors—some of the artwork had us all smiling! On Tuesday, they had a blast blowing bubbles and creating colorful chalk masterpieces. Wednesday brought out their inner engineers as they crafted paper airplanes and held a friendly competition to see whose could fly the farthest. On Thursday, the campers let their imaginations run wild while making unique pipe cleaner sculptures. The week wrapped up with an exciting trip to FunZ’s on Friday, where they bounced around, built epic forts, and shared lots of laughs. We also had a picture recreated from 2 years ago! See if you can spot it!!

We’re already looking forward to the adventures Week 6 will bring!

What an amazing fourth week at Silvershell! Campers had a blast creating colorful sand art, crafting friendship bracelets and necklaces, assembling birdhouses, helping paint letters for the new Snack Shack sign, and going to Caddy Shack to play mini golf and bumper boats. A heartfelt thank you to Adam Lambert, Assistant Director at Marion Recreation, for painting the stunning mural beneath the Snack Shack and installing the new sign.
