The Marietta Symphony Orchestra was honored to be asked to provide a String Quartet as the opening act for this morning's speaker, Paul Finkelman, in celebration of the anniversary of the signing of the Northwest Territory Ordinance of 1787.

The speaker was incredibly interesting, the turnout was great, the weather cooperated, and the quartet could not have possibly been better.

Thank you to our musicians, Yaniv Gutman, Jennifer Wood, Mariya Krastanova Gutman, and Kimberly Graham.

Monday, July 13, the City of Marietta will be celebrating the 239th anniversary of the Northwest Territory Ordinance of 1787. There will be multiple events throughout the day.

The Marietta Symphony Orchestra will have a string quartet performing as part of the event at the Gutzon Borglum Start Westward Monument at 10:00 Monday morning.

Today's concert at Peoples Bank Theatre was a resounding success! Board President Trent Elliott acted as part emcee part court jester. Maestro Robert Turizziani led the orchestra masterfully, and concert master Ian Jessee corralled the troops expertly.

Add in a beautiful presentation of the US and military flags by veterans, and a jaw-dropping performance from guest soloist Victoria Biehle and you get a show that will be long remembered.
