Who plays sports? You might like this for the quilting design on your quilt. The back is super soft minky. Look closely and you can see the quilting design. It’s a sports motif that has basketballs a baseball glove, ball and bat, representing his sports! This athlete is going to love it! What’s your vision ?

A collection of 16 shirts transformed into a quilt for her autistic son. The weight was important and 8 lbs, in weighted blanket territory, met that need. The back is blue cotton - no minky which would be too tactile for his senses. His favorite color, blue, was included throughout. The quilt style is windowpanes, as if looking out of the window at the scenes. A real quilt for special needs by an RN who cares.

2 completed “pillars” as they say in the south. T-shirts are on the front and back. By design they needed to be standard size, have the striped fabric, piping, quilting, a lining and a zipper on the side. Done! These were shipped off today.

I still laugh about “pillar”. Awhile back I was working in the hospital and a patient asked me for a “pillar”. We had just moved to Atlanta from Chicago “Huh? “ I replied. A “pillar”, he repeated. I finally got it after 3 tries and brought him a pillow! And that’s Kyle’s country word for the day! 😝

She came in wearing one of her shirts earned from running the Mayors 5K on the runway at Hartsfield Jackson airport. She's run several but the race scheduled for tomorrow is now postponed due to the weather expected on Saturday. Looks like a good turnout was expected, over 2000 athletes. I asked about her experience in the past running on the runway. She explained that you'd take a shuttle to the runway. Once at the starting point the mayor would greet participants . The mayor also runs. When all done you get a goodie bag and a t-shirt. She actually came in regarding a "blanket"made with her 30 Peachtree Road Race shirts purchased elsewhere. She was disappointed as it doesn't have any quilting. We came up with a plan to remake it so that she has a REAL quilt with running shoes as the quilting. We're on it and will chronicle the process as we get it done. Stay safe everyone !

Cats in baskets! This old quilt was quilted by her grandmother by hand. Our adult customer was nervous leaving this with us as this was her baby quilt and even though she's an adult now, she's never been apart from it before! She realizes it needs a little bit of work though. Not much though. The binding (outer green edge) is well worn in the top center a place where she said when she was younger she'd grab the quilt there and hold it under her chin! Our process is to go over it thoroughly and then present our recommendations for repair. She wants to have it in good condition in order to hand it down to her daughter one day. We're on it and will have this quilt back to her in no time. Let us know if you have an old quilt we can hepl with.
