Hi Friends,
This is a new painting called Elizabeth. She is a girl who loves feminine dresses, wears a string of pearls, a pair of pumps with a low heel, and enjoys going to the ballet and piano recitals! There is a repetition of circular shapes in her dress, her bouquet and in her hair. Something that occurred during the process that I did not preplan. The circular shape indicates wholeness and completeness.

Come see us at dk Gallery on Friday 10/2 and meet Elizabeth and other new ladies!!

Hi Friends,
The name Fiona is of Irish and Gaelic origin, meaning fair, blonde, and of w**e, which I think fits this new painting! I used a neutral palette with hints of blush and a rusty red for a pop of color. When I look at her, the word that comes to mind is confidence.

Come join us for art walk this Friday 10/2 at dk Gallery. All are welcome:)

Hi Friends, What an enlightening and entertaining evening at dk Gallery last Thursday! Meg Aubry, a professor at SCAD led a discussion on evaluating and understanding art. Included in the paintings being critiqued was my Dressmaker's Daughter shown here. It doesn't matter how long you've been painting; it is a rewarding experience to see how others view your work! Thank you to Meg, dk and all who joined us!

Hi Friends,
The nipped waist and sleek silhouette of this figure drawing was inspired by my love of fashion but more specifically, the actual dressmaking and design. And Dior was the master! xoxo

Hi friends,
Hope your day is going great! This new oil painting started in my sketchbook when I was loosely designing holiday dresses. It came to life on canvas and some of the details like strapless with a sheer top and bow at the waist, I noticed later at the Dior show at SCAD Fash, weeks after the painting was finished! I guess I had Dior on the brain. xo
