Parents, we have a special invitation for your young artists and musicians!

On New Year’s Day, RobertKent Galleries will host “Little Artists, Big Dreams,” an ArtWalk show featuring artwork and performances by K–5th and 6th–8th grade creatives from our community. The celebration runs Friday, January 1 from 6–9pm on Marietta Square, and families are welcome to come and go as their evening allows.

Speaking life into our little ones can shape their futures. Let’s fill the gallery with their work and show them how much their creativity matters.

🎨 FOR YOUNG ARTISTS

Step 1: Email a photo of the artwork to [email protected] by Friday, November 27

Step 2: In the same email, share the artist’s name, age, and a few sentences about them or their piece

Step 3: Drop off the artwork at the gallery by Friday, December 4
Paintings on canvas are encouraged. Paper pieces are welcome as well and will need to be framed for display. Participating families receive framing discounts starting at 40% off as our thank-you.

🎶 FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS

Instrumentalists and vocalists can email a short video audition to [email protected] by Friday, November 27. Performers are welcome to play just a few songs and then enjoy the rest of the celebration.

🤝 FOR KIDS WHO WANT TO HELP

Have a child who’d love to see what it’s like to work in a gallery? We have roles for young helpers, like greeting and serving guests. Email [email protected] to get involved.

What makes someone need to create?

For the three artists in our October show, "The Gift of Creation," the answer is that it's simply part of who they are. Join us for the Marietta Square October ArtWalk on Friday, October 2, from 6 to 9pm at RobertKent Galleries.

🎨 Paz is a Venezuelan artist whose work has been shown in Miami Beach, New York, San Juan, and Florence, Italy. His paintings mix figuration and abstraction with strong lines and vibrant Caribbean color. In his words: "I need to paint to be alive. It's stronger than me."

🎨 Laura Parker is an Atlanta native now working in the North Georgia mountains. Her mixed-media constructions on paper, canvas, wood, and glass explore how nature's rhythms and cultural symbols connect us all.

🎨 Schu paints layered, expressive florals rooted in her faith and the belief that we are all born creative. As author Manuel Luz puts it, "We create because we are made in the image of the Creator."

Bring the family, bring a friend, and make an evening of it on Marietta Square. We'd love to see you there.

How do our Concierge Art Trips actually work?

It's simple: we bring the gallery to you. Every piece on a Concierge Art Trip comes straight from our collection here in Marietta Square, and it's curated with the same care as anything hanging on our walls. No crowded booths, no general showings, just a private appointment built around your space and your project.

We choose our stops based on relationships, the designers we already partner with and the ones we're excited to meet. And if you're already deep in a project, you can request pieces ahead of time so we arrive with options that actually fit the room, the client, and the budget.

Two trips are on the calendar this month:

Marietta - tonight's the night!

Join us on the Marietta Square to enjoy a night of art. Stop by all the beautiful galleries, and celebrate the opening night of our September exhibition, "A Change of Scenery," featuring new works from Kanayo Ede, Shane McDonald, and Mayte Parsons.

Mayte Parsons has new work in the gallery, and it's dazzling in the truest sense of the word. Her Impressionist landscapes are built from fierce, unblended color: pools of pure pigment, trees that seem to evaporate into the sky, riotous wildflowers in the foreground, and vistas that stretch on forever. Born and raised in Spain, Mayte studied at St. Jorge University of Fine Arts in Barcelona and earned her BFA at San Fernando University of Fine Arts in Madrid before moving to the US in 1979. Her work now hangs in the Hotel Nikko in Beverly Hills, the Bocairente City Hall in Valencia, Spain, and in private and corporate collections around the world.

Before you see Shane McDonald's paintings in person, get to know the artist behind them.

Shane has been painting professionally since 1998, and these days his studio is at the Artisan Resource Center in Marietta. He's classically trained, but his subject matter ranges wide: horses in progress for an upcoming show, landscapes built from years of observation, and portraits, which he considers his true specialty since it's really the human face that draws him in.

Shane is also a longtime instructor. He runs an open figure drawing group every Sunday and clearly takes pride in the students who pass through his classroom studio.

His new pieces have just arrived at RobertKent Galleries for "A Change of Scenery," opening Friday, September 4 from 6 to 9 PM alongside fellow artists Kanayo Ede and Mayte Parsons.

Save the date! Our next Marietta Square ArtWalk exhibition, "A Change of Scenery," opens Friday, September 4 from 6 to 9 PM at RobertKent Galleries.

This show brings together three artists working in very different kinds of places: Kanayo Ede's vivid, rearranged landscapes, Shane McDonald's classical yet contemporary paintings held in museum collections across Georgia, and Mayte Parsons' Impressionist scenes built from pools of pure color.

Admission is free and open to the public, no ticket required to walk in, though you're welcome to RSVP ahead of time.
