Things are coming together at York Street Yards. York Street Yards

We are making ourselves at home for the next three weeks with Jason DeMarte’s, Simbiotica. This is our fifth RULE satellite since launching the new model in June 2025 and we’re having a lot of fun discovering new spaces around Denver.

Join Jason and our team this Saturday, October 24, from 3 to 5p to celebrate his newest body of work before it heads to Marfa.

In his newest work, DeMarte turns the rural Midwest into a staged, uneasy yet irresistible paradise. Composed from hundreds of individual photographs, his montages pair lush florals and sugary treats with houses and overhead power lines, creating scenes with the crisp, polished appeal of advertising. Their seductive surfaces suggest how thoroughly consumer culture has shaped our relationship with the natural world, raising questions about our dependence on it and how much of it we can ever truly escape.

John Fudge (1940–1999) drew inspiration from the distinctive features of American culture, incorporating elements of religion, pop culture, mythology, and the supernatural.

His paintings engage with these subjects with equal parts affection and irreverence, highlighting the humor and contradictions inherent in the beliefs we choose to embrace.

‘Something to Believe In,’ depicts Ronnie Spector (of The Ronettes) Ronnie Spector with a halo next to a box of 45’s, pushing her into a saintly realm. Little side fact, John also had a boot fe**sh - another motiff you’ll see throughout his work.

Stop by the gallery to view more or DM us for a list.

‘John Fudge: The Gospel According to Trouble’ is on view at RULE Marfa through November 21.

John Fudge (1940-1999) knew that the absurd could tell us something serious about ourselves.

Through satire, theatrical invention, and a remarkable command of visual storytelling, Fudge turned the familiar symbols of American life into scenes of comic contradiction. Religion, politics, morality, and popular culture all became material for his irreverent imagination.

John Fudge: The Gospel According to Trouble opens tomorrow at RULE Marfa.
