American Legion Post 76 We hold our Legion, Auxiliary and SOL meeting 2nd Mon of every month. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

A nonprofit venue hall available to rent for parties, weddings, family get-togethers, craft shows, flea markets, funeral luncheons, prom parties, or just about any gatherings you need. The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed

to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service-members and veterans. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. Post 76 will pay half of your dues for the first 2 years of membership. DM for details!

This Saturday, 13 June @ approx. 5pm, the State Association for the Preservation of Iowa Cemeteries will be placing a tombstone for Civil War veteran Charles Bassett at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Bell Plaine.
The Iowa County Pioneer Cemetery Commission discovered, researched, and documented this finding 146 years after his death.
Veteran organizations (Legion, VFW, etc), veterans, and the public are all welcome to attend this event.
