"This Is My Life"
Acrylic on Canvas
Akiane Kramarik l Age 11

In "This Is My Life," Akiane reflects on the quiet devotion behind a ballerina’s art—a life shaped by creativity, patience, passion, and sacrifice.

The painting invites the viewer to look beyond the grace of the performance to the years of dedication that make each movement possible.

At the center are two ribbons—symbols of passion and dedication—carefully tied to secure the dancer’s pointe shoes. Together, they speak to the discipline required not simply to become the best, but to give one’s best to what they love.

What do two ribbons have to do with a dancer’s most beautiful performance?

In “This Is My Life,” Akiane Kramarik connects the ribbons on a ballerina’s pointe shoes with the dedication and passion behind her art. As Akiane shares, when the ballerina fastens them tightly, “then she can dance her most beautiful and graceful.”

Hear the story behind this painting in the latest episode of “Beyond the Brush.”

Belóved Café was honored to host the Marble Falls community for Coffee With The Mayor. Guests enjoyed complimentary coffee, conversation, and a chance to meet Mayor John Packer.

It was a special morning of face-to-face connection, relationship-building, and getting to know our neighbors.

We can’t think of a better way to start the day than with coffee, community, and connection.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11 and hold the families forever changed in our hearts. We remember the courage of those who stepped forward in the midst of tragedy, offering help, comfort, and hope when it was needed most.

With deep gratitude, we honor the sacrifice of those who served that day—and all who continue to serve our communities and our country every day.

May this day of remembrance renew our commitment to care for one another and honor those who continue to sacrifice through lives of service.
