Just announced! A very special evening Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music on Saturday, November 14th, 7pm. Join Bottom Line co-owner Allan Pepper and veteran music journalist Billy Altman as they discuss their new book Positively Fourth and Mercer: The Inside Story of New York’s Iconic Music Club, The Bottom Line, a behind-the-scenes look at the history and legacy of the 400-seat Greenwich Village nightspot that during its 1974-2004 run impacted the careers of Bruce Springsteen, Dolly Parton, Darlene Love, David Johansen, Uncle Floyd, and countless others.
Moderated by local radio personality Jerry Treacy, the event will also feature a gallery of rarely seen photographs by longtime club photographer Peter Cunningham, as well as Q & A’s and book signings by the two authors.

Join us Thursday, October 8th in Brooklyn, for an evening exploring music history, friendship, and the enduring legacy of one of the city’s most beloved cultural institutions!

Join Bottom Line co-owner Allan Pepper and award-winning music journalist Billy Altman for the Brooklyn celebration of Positively Fourth and Mercer: The Inside Story of New York’s Iconic Music Club, The Bottom Line—the story of the legendary Greenwich Village venue that helped define the city’s nightlife for more than 30 years, hosting the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Lou Reed, Dolly Parton, Patti Smith, and Miles Davis.

Allan and Billy will be interviewed by Ditmas Park’s Ira Mayer, who knew Allan and Stanley Snadowsky well before they opened the Bottom Line, and spent many a night in the club reviewing for the Village Voice, New York Post and others. There will also be an opportunity to look at rare photos taken at the club by its photographer-in-residence, Peter Cunningham. A reception and book signing will follow.
