Maplewood - Division of Arts & Culture The Division of Arts & Culture is under the Business Administration Department in Maplewood Township

Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture organizes and facilitates performances and cultural activities throughout the Township of Maplewood, New Jersey. Working independently and in conjunction with local arts and civic groups such as the Strollers Community Theatre, Maplewood Arts Council, Rent Party Pantry, and the Springfield Avenue Partnership among others, Cultural Affairs strives to establish

Maplewood as a cultural outpost and arts destination. The Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs also operates the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts and the multi-purpose facility, The Woodland.

A look back at MAPSO Juneteenth 2026.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate an evening of freedom, unity, culture, and community at Maplewood Memorial Park.

The Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture is grateful to all of the performers, artists, partners, vendors, volunteers, and attendees who helped bring this celebration to life.

Tonight’s program begins at 5 PM with our Master of Ceremonies, Nicole McSwain entrepreneur, creative visionary, and founder of The RICH Experience.

Join us for our 2026 MAPSO Juneteenth celebration this evening at Maplewood Memorial Park.

In addition to live performances, attendees can enjoy family-friendly activities including arts and crafts workshops, a bouncy house, a Seniors tent, accessible sensory headphones, and food from KB’s BBQ Smokehouse.

Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture invites the MAPSO community to our 2026 Juneteenth celebration on Friday, June 19, at Maplewood Memorial Park.

The evening will include live performances, welcome remarks, the National Anthem, music by DJ Fauzi, kids’ crafts, a bouncy house, food by KB Smoke House, and fireworks.

Opening this weekend at 1978 Maplewood Arts Center: “Troublemakers” by Deric Carner.

Presented in celebration of Pride Month, "Troublemakers" explores identity, belonging, self-expression, and the relationship between what we hold inside and what we show to the world.

Visitors are also invited to create their own masks and become a "Troublemaker," reflecting on the many sides of identity and self-expression.
