The Division of Arts & Culture is under the Business Administration Department in Maplewood Township

Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture organizes and facilitates performances and cultural activities throughout the Township of Maplewood, New Jersey. Working independently and in conjunction with local arts and civic groups such as the Strollers Community Theatre, Maplewood Arts Council, Rent Party Pantry, and the Springfield Avenue Partnership among others, Cultural Affairs strives to establish

Maplewood as a cultural outpost and arts destination. The Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs also operates the Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts and the multi-purpose facility, The Woodland.

This Sunday, join the Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture for Acoustic Jam Sessions at 1978 Maplewood Arts Center.

Led by veteran teacher and touring musician Amy Beshara, this welcoming acoustic jam session is open to acoustic instruments, hand percussion, and singers of all ages and experience levels.

🚨 Event Postponed: Due to forecasted thunderstorms, tomorrow’s Gazebo Summer Concert Series performance has been rescheduled.

DJ Fauzi and Sarah Joseph will now perform on Friday, August 28 from 7–9 PM at the Springfield Avenue Gazebo.

Introducing MAC Mic, a free, weekly, all-ages comedy open mic at 1978 Maplewood Arts Center.

Beginning Thursday, September 3, the Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture invites comedians and comedy lovers to gather for an evening of new material, creative experimentation, and community connection.

Hosted by Maplewood comedians Maribeth Theroux, Shannon Moffett, and Sibo, MAC Mic welcomes performers of all experience levels, from first-timers to seasoned comics.
