Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture is thrilled to announce the launch of a new pilot MIXED MEDIA and FILM program this Fall. Please pass along information about Studio Burgdorff to any students who might be interested in these courses this Fall.

Meeting weekly, the goal of the program is to introduce students to a variety of visual arts mediums from collage to bookmaking to self-portraiture. A Saturday filmmaking course will explore narrative themes and expose students to the basics of film composition, editing, and digital storytelling.

Middle school classes begin Tuesday, Sept 19 and High school classes begin Saturday, Sept 23. The courses will be spread out over 3 sessions between September and December. Ideally, each course with attract a good cohort and the students will progress together from one session to the next, but the classes are structured to allow for new students to enter throughout the semester who may not have availability to sign up for all three 3 sessions. The cost per session is $100/student. Tuition assistance is available.
