Perhaps the part of myself I fear the most
holds the courage to conquer my world—
the one I build behind my eyes,
thought by thought,
until I forget I am its architect.
The challenge is to give my mind somewhere beautiful to live,
knowing everything I love
could change in a heartbeat.
To let joy enter
without already mourning its departure.
My eyes keep searching beyond the fear of tragedy,
for a place where beauty does not carry
the shadow of its ending.
And I wonder—
if we came here to experience life,
why does feeling it sometimes hurt so much?
Why must love leave us so open to loss?
Perhaps I become so lost in the experience
that I forget I am allowed
to feel it without understanding it.
And everything feels real.
So real
that every emotion finds its way inside me,
and I am left learning
how to hold it all.
