On This Day, August 18, 1587, Virginia Dare became the first child born in the Americas to English parents. She was named in honor of the Virgin Queen of England, Elizabeth I.

Tonight, don’t miss the first of two Virginia Dare Nights at The Lost Colony!

The Lost Colony continues its long-celebrated tradition of using real babies during the August 18th and August 19th performances. Being a “Virginia Dare Baby” is a coveted role in the community that many local citizens have had the opportunity of being a part of. For Virginia Dare Nights only, the prop baby swaddled in blankets, is replaced with these special guests.

Virginia Dare Nights are generously sponsored by First National Bank.

Local babies featured tonight:
Theodore Hart (Parents Matt & Laurel Anne Hart)
Adelaide Wilson (Parents Brendan Wilson & Sydney Putnam)
Waylon Millen (Parents Cody & Madison Millen)
Ophelia Harvin (Parents Tyler & Kateland Harvin)
