Bello the Cello is coming to RSAA!

We are so excited to welcome author and musician Dennis Mathew to our school on Friday, September 18!

Dennis will spend time with our students during the school day, sharing storytelling, music, creativity, and the message behind his book Bello the Cello.

RSAA families are also invited to join us that evening for a special family performance at 6:00 PM.

A big thank you to Trustwell Living Mansfield Place for their generous donation of school supplies to RSAA!

This basket is filled with items that will go directly into the hands of our students and help make sure they have the tools they need to learn, create, and be successful throughout the school year.

We are incredibly grateful for community partners who step up to support our students and families. Donations like this are a wonderful reminder that our students are surrounded by a community that cares about them and wants to see them succeed.

We have several important events coming up, and we want to make sure you have them on your radar:

📌 September 7 – Labor Day
No School

📌 September 18 – Dennis Mathew
Children’s author and musician Dennis Mathew will be talking with our students at 1:30 PM, followed by a special family performance at 6:00 PM.

📌 October 9 – Interims
This marks the halfway point in the grading period, so be on the lookout for your child’s grades.

We are excited for all that is ahead and look forward to sharing these moments with our RSAA families!

Sometimes when we ask, “How was school?” we get one-word answers like “good,” “fine,” or “okay.”

Try asking a different question instead! Here are 10 questions that may help start a better conversation:

What made you smile today?
What was one thing that felt challenging today?
Who did you talk to or play with?
What is something new you learned?
What was your favorite part of the day?
What good questions did you ask today?
What is something kind you saw or did?
What made you feel special today?
What is one thing you are excited about tomorrow?
Who did you help today?

Small conversations help families stay connected and help students know that their school day matters.

Is getting back into routine challenging?

The start of the school year can be exciting, but mornings can still feel rushed as everyone adjusts.

A smooth morning often starts the night before. Before bedtime, try having your child help:

âś… Check their folder
âś… Pick out clothes
âś… Set items near the door
âś… Talk through the morning plan

Welcome to the 2026-2027 Academic Year RSAA Families!

We are four days from the official start of the school year! Please go over this update once more in preparation for the week ahead. A couple reminders:

1. Please be sure to review the dress code in the Parent/Student Handbook linked in this letter and located on the school website.

2. Only clear water bottles may be used in the school building by students.

3. Students who pack lunches may also receive a school lunch if they choose.

4. Be sure you have opted in to receive school notifications.
