🗝️ THE STORY OF THE ESCAPE ROOM
In 2007, a small crew in Kyoto, Japan built something strange — a room you had to break out of.
The idea came from the point-and-click video games they loved: hunt a room for clues, combine them, and escape before the timer hits zero. So they did it for real. They locked a group of strangers in a room, gave them 60 minutes, and watched something click. People didn't feel trapped — they felt alive.
From Japan the idea jumped to Singapore and China, then exploded across Europe — Budapest turned dusty cellars into legendary rooms — and landed in the U.S. around 2012. In just a few years the count went from a single room to tens of thousands worldwide.
Why did it stick? Because it gave people something a screen never could: a real problem, a real clock, and a reason to actually talk to each other. For one hour, the only notifications that matter are the clues in front of you.
Our rooms are hand-built in that same spirit — one puzzle at a time. Every good story needs a room, and the next chapter is yours to write. You just have to walk in. 🕯️
