The Rollin' Rust Room

A few weeks ago we were handed a surprising new lease for 103 Wesley Street, disregarding the prior lease in which we agreed to. To leave all drama out of it, we found the new lease to be unsignable in the timeframe we were allotted.

After 2 years of hard work and dedication to the property, we made the appropriate and obvious decision to move the venue elsewhere.

The good news: ***TO BE CLEAR, the venue is still happening.*** We made a promise to our donors to complete this venue and we will 100% do so. If you haven’t caught on yet, we are not the give-up type. 😂 We’re extremely fortunate to have a silent partner on our side this time around that will make the transition to opening much much faster at the new location; meaning, we will open sooner than we would have had we stayed.

Don’t worry about us, we’re proud of all the hard work we put into that space. It was not a loss in our minds whatsoever. 103 Wesley is far safer, and much closer to being something worth visiting, than it was when we began. That is a fact.

Throughout this journey, we cried happy/sad tears, accumulated one million bruises, got stitched up 😂, fixed dozens of wall/ceiling leaks, increased our muscle mass 💪, gained a plethora of skills and kickstarted a wonderful, artsy community right here in Manlius.

We see no reason to quit and far more reasons than before to see this project through. 💪 ♥️🔥

A little update for ya! Rebecca and I cleaned the front room today to give ya’ll a tour. ☺️ We have a lot of projects going on at once, and I must say, it’s looking good!!! Every donation, big or small, gets this venue that much closer to opening. 🎃👌🎃👌 We are about 70% done with about 70% of our goal funded. It might not look like much… but in reality, it’s the beginning of a huge undertaking!!! ⚡️ 💡 🔌 We’re starting a massive electrical reconstruction project here at The Rollin’ Rust Room. No more than a month into demo, Rebecca and I came to this alarming realization: every outlet, every ceiling light, anything that once flickered, or ever went “ding” … needed to be removed and replaced. The room currently has one single receptacle and zero permanent lighting fixtures. There’s about to be a lot of work going on down here to bring this room into the year 2024/25.

Our biggest asset has been our undeniable persistence to finish this venue, no matter the circumstances. We are not stopping until it opens. 💪💪💪

After sanding, priming, painting and finishing the 40 pieces that make up our new tables, we can proudly move on to the next project! Refinishing 10 tables was a huge undertaking; but, it saved us a ton on buying new. 💪 Fun fact: These great tables used to live at the We bought them at the .restore Thank you to all who helped with this one! ☝️
