Symphony on the Prairie is just around the corner! Please join us on September 12 at 6PM. A heartfelt thank-you to the City of North Mankato for helping to sponsor this wonderful event!

It is always such a joy to share the gift of music with so many families, friends, and members of our community. Gathering together in such a beautiful outdoor setting makes the experience even more special.

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to bring people together through music and celebrate the wonderful community we are so fortunate to be part of!

Stravinsky’s The Firebird Blazes to Life! 🎶
On March 13, experience the magic, mystery and breathtaking power of Stravinsky’s The Firebird in a spectacular live-to-film experience, featuring an original animated film by Italian filmmaker Pietro Chiovaro ⭐️

The Firebird and the Frozen Forest is a brand new story, written and animated by Chiovaro and inspired by the music itself. Told without a single word of dialogue, it was built frame by frame to Stravinsky’s score, so that every entry and every instrument becomes something the audience can see as well as hear.

With the orchestra performing The Firebird live alongside Chiovaro’s mesmerizing animation, this immersive “Story in Sound” promises an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.

Come hear the music that helped ignite a revolution in 20th-century classical music, and discover a story told entirely in image and sound.

Less than a month away until the Mankato Symphony Orchestra heads to the prairie! We hope you can join us at Benson Park in North Mankato on September 12 at 6pm. This is a FREE outdoor concert that is always a blast!

In honor of America’s 250th, enjoy a program filled with patriotic favorites alongside beloved, nostalgic tunes like The Sound of Music—music that stirs memories, sparks joy, and invites you to sing along.
