Yesterday Really Big Prints removed all of our prints and "stuff" from the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. We are looking for a venue for July 2027, and will have an update on that soon. We also have some other exciting news about the collection and upcoming exhibits. We are in negotiations with UW - Milwaukee about a permanent home for the now 194 prints in the collection, and we are working on an exhibition of prints curated from all six RBP events at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design that will run from May through September of 2026. Check back here and at our website reallybigprints.org for updates about 2027

What makes summer in Wisconsin so wonderful? It's warm and sunny, Lake Michigan laps gently at the beach just across the road, gentle breezes blow. It's July and time for Really Big Prints. Please join us a our new venue, with our new partner Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum for Really Big prints 2023. Enjoy the smell of fresh ink, listen to the hypnotizing swish of the rollers and clatter and clank of the street roller as it carefully presses paper to your matrix. Bask in the appreciation of your fellow printmakers and excited spectators as you reveal your "reallybig" (32" x 60") print. This will be our fifth time hosting this event and we have become very good at it. We welcome 30 to 35 artists or teams - each printer gets a full morning or afternoon to print an edition of their print. Teams and collaborations are welcome, as are print clubs or students. Each print then goes immediately (August ) into a show at the Rahr-West Museum of Art, and then to a show at Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in November and other venues TBD. Prints will also be wheat pasted in downtown Manitowoc. On evening, Friday, 7/21, we host a printmakers gala. Full details, important "how-to" information lodging and travel options and the application link can be found at www.reallybigprints.org Application is live and open until we fill all of our time slots. If you want to bring a print club, or group of students please let us know as soon as possible.

We’re thrilled to announce that Really Big Prints will be returning in 2023 with a new partner and location: the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. If you’re not already familiar with HWT’s work, you are in for a treat. We’re excited to see what comes of our collaboration. Mark your calendars now; we’ll be printing from July 19 – 22nd, 2023.

Applications for RBP 2023 will open in late 2022. Start planning your image, honing your gouges, and assembling your team.

We’ll also be at SGCI in Madison this week promoting RBP. Keep an eye out for any one of us (Stephanie Carpenter, Berel Lutsky, or Katie Ries) and snag a card with all the relevant 2023 info on it. We can’t wait to see you all in Madison (if you’re going) and again on the sunny shores of Lake Michigan in 2023.

Lastly, if you’re in and around NE Wisconsin, you can check out a selection of the 2022 prints on exhibition at St. Norbert College. The SNC galleries are open M – F, 9 AM – 4 PM. The prints will be up through March 31st.
