Mosaic simply would not be what it is today without Rocky.
So much of what people see when they walk through our doors carries the mark of his hands, his hard work, and his willingness to serve. But what Rocky helped build here went far beyond wood, stages and walls. His faith, friendship and example left an impact on the people who had the privilege of knowing him.
We are incredibly grateful for the part Rocky played in the story of Mosaic. His work will remain here, and so will his legacy.
Our prayers are with his family and everyone who loved him. We look forward to the day we see our friend again. ❤️
Yesterday, we lost someone who had a huge part in the story of Inspire and Mosaic.
But before any of that, Rocky was our friend.
He was honest. He spoke his mind and wasn't afraid to tell you the truth, but there was love behind it. He worked incredibly hard and gave so much of himself to the things and people he cared about.
If you've been inside Inspire or Mosaic, you've seen his work. The woodwork around the Inspire stage, the sound booth, the large Mosaic stage. He sanded floors and worked countless hours that went unseen. Even this cribbage board we're sharing with this post was something Rocky made.
He also helped us find our coffee roaster before Inspire ever opened.
There are just pieces of him everywhere.
We looked up to Rocky as a friend and a mentor. His faith showed through the way he worked, the way he treated people, the way he worshipped, and just how he lived his life. He showed us what loving Jesus could look like without having to say much about it.
The last message we exchanged was Sunday. He told me his health was declining and things weren't getting better. I responded, "I'm praying for you Rocky !!!"
And I did.
We're going to miss him. A lot.
Our faith gives us hope that Rocky is with Jesus now, free from the health struggles he carried here. And while there's sadness knowing we won't see him walk through these doors again, we don't have to look very far to remember him.
His hands helped build this place.
And pieces of his life will remain here for a very long time.
