Manitou Monster Project The Manitou Monster Project is a unique artist collaboration between kindergarten students and adult artists in our community.

The Manitou Monster Project is a unique collaboration between school children and adult artists. Kindergartners from Manitou Elementary will be asked to draw a monster from their incredible imaginations, then adult artists from the Manitou community will be asked to recreate those monsters in their own medium. By collaborating with kindergartners, we hope to inspire creativity and imagination, while also providing a platform for adult artists to showcase their talent and contribute to a larger artistic vision.

Yesterday, Carrie and I spent the day setting up the show, and this year’s monsters are AMAZING!

And this morning, our 5th graders finished up their 3D monsters and got them all set up in the show. They did such an incredible job, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what they created!

See you there!

THE MONSTERS ARE COMING!

The 4th Annual Manitou Monster Project Art Show is almost here!
Friday, October 2
5–7 PM
Manitou Springs Elementary School

Over the past four years, the Monster Project has grown into a special community tradition connecting students, local artists, and families through creativity and imagination. This year, we’re excited to once again bring together two collaborative monster projects!

The Original Monster Project
Kindergarten students create imaginative monsters that are “adopted” by local artists and reimagined in their own unique styles and mediums.

The 3D Monster Project
Back for its second year! Our 5th graders are combining technology, sculpture, and creativity as they customize 3D-printed monster forms and transform them into their own unique works of art.

We hope to see you there!
