It's 2024! New Hen House Mosaic Class coming on Saturday, August 17th-5:00 to 9:00 and Sunday, August 18th-5:00 to 7:30PM. Must be available both days to complete project. See all details below. :D

Hen House Studio: Introduction to Mosaics
Teacher: Joyce Courtney
Class size: Six students
About: A perfect introduction to Pique Assiette* style mosaics for interior use. "Intro to Mosaics" is a great building block for students who want to learn the art of mosaics. Begin here, so you can do larger projects in the future. This class covers terminology, substrates, fixatives, tools and their use, setting, grouting and finishing! Everything is provided for you. Enjoy making a mosaics with old or new friends, listen to music and let the creative juices flow! Students will make a 15" x 15" wall mirror to take home. No art or mosaic experience necessary. YOU can do it! Feel free to bring a broken dish or plate that has sentimental value to add to your design. Class is held in TWO sessions. You need to be available for both dates to complete your project.
Dates: Friday, August 17th - 5:00PM-9:00PM (design, tesserae and setting)
Sunday, August 18th - 5:00PM-7:30PM (grouting and finishing)

Level: Beginner

A perfect introduction to Pique Assiette* style mosaics for interior use. "Intro to Mosaics" is a great building block for students who want to: learn the art of mosaic over a period of time, are interested in doing larger projects in the future, or just want to experiment with the mosaic medium. This class covers, terminology, substrates, fixatives, tools and their use, setting, grouting and finishing.

Have an awesome time making mosaics with old or new friends, listen to music and let the creative juices flow! Students will make a 15" x 15" wall mirror to take home. No art or mosaic experience necessary. YOU can do it!

Class is held in TWO sessions. You need to be available for both dates to complete your project.
Friday evenings: 6:00pm-10:00pm (design, tesserae and setting)
Sundays: 4:00 - 7:00PM (grouting and finishing)

Cost - $125.00 Includes seven hours of instruction and EVERYTHING you need. Just come, relax and create! (Feel free to bring any plates, dishes, tea cups etc. that may have special meaning to you.)
