Our Story

Amy Rosine and Cheryl Richt, faculty members of the School of Music, Theater and Dance at Kansas State University, wanted to create a Vocal Academy for area high school singers who want to improve their technique and gain in-depth information about the singing voice. They understand that it is difficult to take voice lessons during the school year due to busy student schedules and financial constraints. The Flint Hills Vocal Academy is an affordable program that gives students the opportunity to learn vocal technique, practice and performance skills that will help them in their choral and solo singing. They will receive individual and group voice lessons, take part in masterclasses with guest artists and present a vocal recital. Students audition for the program in order for the instructors to select music.
