Douglass Activity Center Located in Manhattan Kansas, The Frederick Douglass Recreation Complex serves as the only free recre Pickleball is played and full of laughter every morning.

The Frederick Douglass Recreation Complex is a branch of Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department. The facility is open to the general public and is free of charge! As recreation is always changing, so is the Complex menu of activities! Open gym hours are available every afternoon and evening for anyone wanting to practice or play basketball. To help motivate and satisfy the fitness goals of our

members, the Douglass Activity Center will bring back fitness classes such as Zumba, Yoga and Total Body Strong in the Fall. Also, a brand new fitness area and walking track is available now. These programs do require a fee for equipment maintenance and to compensate instructors. These classes can be registered for by simply coming to the Douglass Activity Center and signing up!
