Vanessa Leinani is a winner of the thenewyorkcritique.com Short Story Contest.

The work was judged by William Sirls (“The Reason”, Great American Pure Flix / Universal Studios Hollywood) and Sam Bauer (Donnie Darko, Peripheral Edit, Los Angeles), whose editorial credits include projects involving major studio talent such as Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Paul Walker, and Justin Timberlake.

As part of the award, Vanessa will receive a professional manuscript feedback session with both judges.

Independent work, evaluated on its own merits, holds up.

A recent written review on the website Let’s Talk Terror by Celia Payne praises Jason Brasier’s The Demonic Detective as:
