The F90 Gundam was a prototype designed and manufactured in the "Formula Project," a miniaturization project of the Naval Strategic Research Institute . The design was completed in UC 0111 and in UC 112 of the following year, it was highly praised in the Advanced Tactical Mobile Suit (ATMS) competition held by the Earth Federation Forces . The F90 successfully won the competition. Although the subsequent mass production plan was shelved, it was undoubtedly a sensational event in the field of mobile suit development of the Federation Forces, where Anaheim Electronics was the dominant company .

The Crossbone Gundam XM-X1 was the first mobile suit officially developed by a military enterprise in the Earth Sphere for use on other planets. Manufactured by the Naval Strategic Research Institute , its official internal designation was "F-97," but to conceal the manufacturer's designation, it was designated XM-X (the exact designation is unclear) when delivered to the space pirate Death Vanguard
The most distinctive external feature of the Crossbone Gundam is its X-shaped rocket thrusters extending from its back. This was a redesigned solution to effectively overcome the supergravity of Jupiter. In Earth Sphere mobile suits, high mobility could be achieved by distributing small thrusters throughout the body, but in Jupiter Sphere mobile suits, each thruster needed to be larger, resulting in an excessively large mobile suit. To use large-capacity afterburners, large generators were required, inevitably increasing the mobile suit's weight. To allow the heavier mobile suit to move freely, even larger afterburners were needed… creating a vicious cycle.

The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is a nuclear-powered Gundam manufactured by ZAFT during the First Joint-PLANT War. Its system is the "Generation Unsubdued Nuclear Drive Assault Module Complex"—a new type of unrestricted nuclear-powered assault unit. Its name "Freedom" contrasts with "Justice" in the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam . The PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Patrick Zala, who developed these two mobile suits, had the philosophy of " wielding the hammer of 'justice' against Naturals to win true 'freedom' for Coordinators

The RX-80EXAM-3FA (Blue Destiny Unit 3 (Full Armed)) is an upgraded version of the RX-80EXAM-3 (Blue Destiny Unit 3) , modeled after the RX-79BD-1FA (Blue Destiny Unit 1 (Full Armed)) .

Its armament is identical to the Full Armor Unit 1, but it retains the original chest-mounted twin missile launcher and adds a super bazooka, similar to the RX-78-2 Gundam, mounted on the lower back . Two fuel tanks are also added to the rear of the unit. Like the Full Armor Unit 1, the EXAM system can only be activated after removing the external armor .

The RX-81ST G-Line Standard Armor was a general-purpose prototype mobile suit developed by the Federation Forces after the One Year War . It is arguably the most common and widely used armor variant in the G-Line series. Compared to the RX-81LA G-Line Light Armor and RX-81AS G-Line Assault Armor , its armor additions were more moderate. The addition of auxiliary propulsion systems on the legs not only offset the weight of the additional armor but also allowed for short-term hovering on land. The additional armor concentrated on the upper body further improved joint protection and pilot survivability. The G-Line Standard Armor achieved a balance between defense and mobility; its performance as a prototype was impeccable, and the high versatility of its armor made it sufficient for most combat needs. Furthermore, Amuro Ray piloted this type of mobile suit for simulated training during the Gryps War .

The RX-80PR Pale Rider is a specially modified mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces based on the RX-78 series. Serving as a test platform for the "Hades System"—the Hyper Animosity Detection Estimate System—it was designed to be a highly efficient assassin, much like the Fourth Horseman of Death mentioned in the Gospel of John! Similar to the EXAM System developed in the early stages of the One Year War, the Hades System was developed by the Augusta Research Institute based on data from the EXAM System. It can temporarily enhance the mobile suit's performance and strengthen the pilot's reaction ability by forcibly increasing the speed of neural transmission in the pilot's brain. However, the side effects on the pilot are equally severe, leading to gradual memory loss. Also similar to the EXAM System, the Hades System automatically detects threats and activates without the pilot's permission, exhibiting extreme aggression and berserk tendencies. Due to high costs, Pale Knight ceased production after manufacturing four prototypes. Three of these were delivered to irregular units of the Federation Forces for testing and data collection. One of these was piloted by Lieutenant Chloe Croce and engaged in several battles with the Slave Spirit Squadron and the Magasian Squadron . After the unit was captured by the Magasian Squadron, Vincent Glasner briefly piloted it and equipped it with Zeon-made equipment. Subsequently, the unit was stored and modified into the AMX-018 [HADES] Death Knight .

Although the MSA-003 Rem was mass-produced during the Gryps War due to its well-balanced overall performance and excellent versatility , its firepower became a significant weakness as various TMS/TMA and NT mobile suits emerged. Considering the later intervention of Axis , AEUG deemed the development of improved and evolved MS essential, leading Anaheim Electronics to develop the Rem's successor—the MSA-004 Rem II (Nemo II).

The Rem II enhanced the Rem's generator output and firepower, significantly improving its mobility. Its overall performance, including firepower, defense, and maneuverability, surpassed that of the Rem. The prototype even received praise during initial testing as a "simulated mass-production version of the MK-III." However, this increased cost ultimately led to its defeat as a secondary mainstay mobile suit in competition with the RGM-89 Jegan, which aimed for low cost and high performance .

The FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam (Unit 2) is the second unit of the FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam. Its basic specifications are identical to the original Heavy Gundam, differing only in its black and red paint scheme. In terms of armament, it is almost identical to the other mobile suits, except for the addition of a dedicated rocket launcher developed from the Super Bazooka, increasing its range by 20%.

As the war situation worsened, the Zeon military began planning to form a small, elite special selection squadron of ace pilots. The MS-14B Gelgoog High Mobility Type was developed by Zeon for this select group of elite ace pilots.

From the initial design of the Gelgoog, the machine was thoroughly divided into several units. This was done to specialize the production line and to facilitate the addition of optional parts and adjustments to the machine's structure during production. This design allowed for the production of B or C models without altering the MS-14A Gelgoog

production line.

Although the initial attempt at the RGC-80-1 prototype GM Cannon ended in failure, the designers did not give up on the GM Cannon idea and further developed the RGC-80 GM Cannon.

Learning from the failure of the prototype, the designers replaced the two 360mm cannons originally mounted on the shoulders with a single M79E1 240mm gunpowder cannon on the right shoulder, lengthening the barrel to achieve a faster rate of fire, lower recoil, and, more importantly, a lighter weight (and in space combat, where gravity is absent, a modified 360mm cannon could be used instead).
