Justin Chon is a Korean-American director, writer and actor known for his work in film and television. In 2017, Chon made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film "G**k," which explores the 1992 Los Angeles riots from the perspective of a Korean American family. The film won the Audience Award and the Next Innovator Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Chon's second feature film, "Ms. Purple," premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019. The film tells the story of a Korean-American woman caring for her dying father and struggling to make ends meet in Los Angeles. His third feature film "Blue Bayou" premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2021. The film puts a spotlight on the deportation issue in the US. On the TV side, Chon is most well known for his directorial work in the Apple TV hit series "Pachinko". He just finished production with Jason Mamoa on the new TV series "Chief of War".
