We are often asked who our typical "player" is. And honestly, we get quite a variety of people come through here. But one of our favorite group dynamics? MULTI-GENERATIONAL FAMILIES.
We design our games for teenagers and above, but many families will bring their elementary aged youngest to join. And, THAT'S OK. With adults to help, kids have a BLAST.
🧩 It is beautiful to watch older siblings help the younger ones. A moment where they smile together instead of fight.
🧩 It's great to watch the shy and introverted teenager solve a puzzle and explain it to their grandparents, bridging a 40 year age gap with a shared experience. (The grands will surprise you... we've had players in their 90s enjoy themselves!)
🧩 It's comical to interact with the 10 year old who has been assigned the walkie talkie... as they only ask for clues after saying "roger roger, 10-4!"
🧩 It's satisfying to watch parents be amazed at how smart their kids are... or for the teenagers to ACTUALLY be impressed by their parents, despite their instincts!
🧩 It's awesome to hear "this was a great idea mom!" from the student on college break, knowing they will debrief at dinner with plenty to talk about!
🧩 It's wonderful to see first-timers discover how fun escape rooms REALLY are. Watching their pride at solving a difficult puzzle, or their surprise and joy at a reveal... it's THE BEST.
So what makes an escape room a true family activity? We design it that way! We learn from watching all of you through the years, and we adapt. We try to create inclusive puzzles, cultivate memorable moments, and encourage communication and collaboration. Escape or not, you are in it TOGETHER... and we're here to help along the way. 💜
