Congratulations to Kelsey Sweet, recipient of the 2026 Majestic Academy of Dramatic Arts Senior Scholarship! Over the years Kelsey performed in numerous productions and also worked behind the scenes assisting with productions and summer camps. All of us here at Majestic wish her well on her next journey to Quinnipiac and beyond.

"My time spent at the Majestic taught me more than just storytelling. It taught me the importance of showing up for those around me like they did for me over and over through the years. During covid they found a way to keep music and theatre in my life with online lessons and videoed performances. They encouraged me to venture out to other companies if the opportunity was right and they would always show up to support me if they could. I’m proud to say that I do that for others now, I show up because the Majestic taught me the importance of that. A life lesson I am grateful for.
My time here has also taught me to work hard, listen harder and that nothing is more important than the human experience that we share together and create on our stage.
The people I have met and worked with over the last 13 years are far beyond cast members. They were the people who understood me without explanation, who stood beside me in the wings and in life. Reminding me that I was never alone. Those connections shaped me in ways I didn’t expect, and they became the foundation for everything else I gained. We are who we surround ourselves with and I am proud of that.
Beyond the friendships, The Majestic taught me life skills that I know will stay with me through life. I learned how to communicate, trust others, and how to keep going even when everything feels uncertain. I learned how to carry myself with confidence, but humbly and how to turn my vulnerability into strength.
They always say it’s “the funny things” that get remembered (like wigs flying off mid show or hot mics), but for me, it’s a kind of bond that is going to be incredibly hard to walk away from, harder than I ever expected, and in many ways, harder than saying goodbye to the familiar routines of my everyday life.
As I get ready for my next journey at Quinnipiac University and prepare for the curtain to close on my final show, I know I’m prepared because of The Majestic." - Kelsey Sweet
