As a desiger, her journey in rug hooking began as a student of Liz Williams at McAdoo Rugs in North Bennington, Vemont in the late 1990's. Melina's love of color and challenging processof d

esigning and creating a rug from start to finish has kept her engaged for the past 15 years. Saddened when the exquisite palette of McAdoo's rug wool was no longer available, Melina sought out Liz once again to collaborate on a new venture. With 17 years experience running the dye room for McAdoo Rugs, Liz was anxious to get back to the business of dyeing. Our New Zealand wool is specifically spun for us. Melina and Liz are well on their way to developing a new palette and making it available for everyone who loves hooking or needs bulky wool for their favorite fiber art. The new colors are being offered on our website, www.sealharborrug.com. Visitors are always welcome to come by our Vermont shop to watch the dyeing process and possibly catch Melina creating one of her masterpieces.

Our friend, Rachel, just completed her first full size rug of her own design. We spent a fabulous day last year, choosing colors and as you can see this was the perfect design for color play! REMINDER: We are remodeling the dye kitchen, so any large orders requiring 4 balls or more of a given dye lot should be placed by JUNE 27, to assure that you will have enough yarn for your summer project.

HEADS UP! We will be closing the dye kitchen for the months of July/August to reconfigure the layout, plumbing, etc. Yes, we will still be taking orders throughout the summer and filling orders from our baskets. However, if you are wanting a matching dye lot of approximately 4 balls +, think about placing your order within the next couple of weeks. Don’t panic, I’m filling the baskets with every one of our over 270 colors, but back orders taken after June 27th will have to wait. 🧶🧶🧶 *Good news, while the kitchen is closed we’ll be offering in shop workshops and class time.
