Mud season has its way with Vermont.

The roads soften, the pace slows, and everything gets just a little quieter. It’s part of the rhythm here—and we’ve learned to follow it.

So we’re taking a pause.

The gallery will be closed for a few weeks while we rest, reset, and spend some time gathering new pieces for the season ahead. A little breathing room now means a more thoughtful, collected SQUIRREL when we return.

We’ll reopen on May 16 with fresh work, new finds, and a store that feels ready for spring.

Until then—thank you, as always, for being part of this.

Tiny pieces. Big charm.

Celebrated textile designer Shelagh Costello creates richly layered collage paintings using her own handmade papers.

Colorful, textured, and full of personality, these small 6” × 6” works are perfect for a shelf, a small wall moment, or a playful gallery grouping.

Treasured locations.
Held in paint.

Eva Cincotta captures the landscapes and quiet scenes that define Vermont — the hillsides, back roads, and open skies that feel deeply familiar.

I’ve highlighted the locations for a reason. Because these aren’t just beautiful paintings.
They’re places you know.
Places you return to.
Places that mark time in your own story.

Bringing one home isn’t simply about filling a wall.
It’s about holding onto a place that means something to you.

Which Vermont location feels like yours?

What can happen from a single photograph?

Swipe to see the transformation.

A client shared a fall equinox image of a beloved pond.
Vahe Yeremyan turned it into a 40 x 64” statement piece — layered, luminous, alive with color and reflection.

Then he reimagined the same view in spring.

Two seasons.
Two interpretations.
Two sold paintings.

This is why we love commissions — they aren’t replicas. They’re translations.

If you have a view that matters to you — a pond, a field, a mountain road — let’s talk.

Your walls deserve your story.

Step Into the Woods 🌲

Meet Holly Ann Friesen. Holly’s paintings invite you to look up — through canopies of color, shifting light, and layered skies that feel both grounded and dreamlike. Her work lives somewhere between landscape and abstraction, capturing those hushed, fleeting moments when light filters through branches and the world feels still.

This February at SQUIRREL, we’re stepping Into the Woods — a month inspired by branches reaching skyward, bark marked by time, and the quiet strength found in forests and trees. It feels only fitting to have Holly’s work anchoring the theme.

Swipe through to explore seven pieces from her collection — or stop in to see them in person, where their scale, texture, and atmosphere truly come to life.
