That's a wrap! 🎬 Last week, we concluded our Spring 2026 Film Club. Over the course of five evenings, Film Club members gathered at the Emelin to experience acclaimed new films, connect with fellow film enthusiasts, and engage in discussions with filmmakers and special guests. This season's lineup took us around the world through a diverse collection of films:

Beyond the films themselves, members had the opportunity to enjoy exclusive receptions and connect with filmmakers and artists through special Talk Backs, including conversations with Mad Bills to Pay lead actress Destiney Checo, Everywhere Man co-directors Dan Geller and Dayna Goldfine, and Ask E. Jean director Ivy Meeropol.

Our final Film Club meeting featured a pre-screening reception before Ask E. Jean, celebrating the last meeting of the series. Special thanks to Cosmo & Alex Pisano Deli for their continuous and generous support, making the reception possible.

🎬 Last night marked the fifth and final meet of our Spring Film Club series at the Emelin. Members enjoyed a pre-screening reception before watching Ask. E Jean, a documentary on the life and experiences of writer E. Jean Carroll. After the screening, director Ivy Meeropol joined us for a Talk Back. Thank you to all who attended and help us close out this season’s film club.

We were delighted to welcome Congressman George Latimer to the Emelin today. During his visit, Congressman Latimer presented Executive Director Taryn Sacramone with the official Congressional Record of the remarks he delivered on the floor of the United States House of Representatives on March 4, 2026, recognizing the quality and diversity of the performances the Emelin presents as well as our community commitment.

We are incredibly grateful to the Congressman for this honor and for the many people who make the Emelin possible—our audiences, artists, volunteers, staff, board members, and supporters!
