The Malverne

🎨❤️ Some dreams are painted before they ever become reality. ❤️🎬

Back in May 2025, at our meet and greet, when the vision of bringing The Malverne back to life was still just a dream, we were gifted a very special painting by a talented young man named Terrence.

When Terrence heard the theater was closing, he painted it dark and gray. But when he heard it was coming back, he reimagined it in bright, cheerful, beautiful colors. That painting was given to us that day, and we promised him that when the theater was ready, we would proudly hang it on our wall. Now, after signing our lease on December 31, 2025, and working tirelessly to bring this historic theater back to life, we are so happy to keep that promise! 🥹🌈

Terrence continues to write us letters every month with movie requests and wonderful ideas for the theater. We always write back, and we take his suggestions to heart because our community is what makes The Malverne so special.

This painting is more than just artwork. It’s a reminder of the hope, excitement, and belief that surrounded this vision from the very beginning. And now, Terrence’s colorful vision has a permanent place on our walls. ❤️

Sometimes, the community sees what a place can become long before the doors reopen. Thank you, Terrence, for being part of our story! 🍿🎬✨

We have so much to say and share about last night and once we can find the right words we will! In the meantime we will leave these little snaps from last night right here…

Seven months.

It’s hard to believe that just seven months ago we signed the lease on The Malverne with a dream, a whole lot of hope, and an empty building that needed a lot of love.

Today, we’re excited to share a few behind-the-scenes photos of just how far we’ve come. Every wall that’s been painted, every seat that’s been moved, every room that’s been cleaned, organized, repaired, and reimagined has been made possible through the dedication of volunteers, generous donations, and countless hours of hard work.

What makes this journey even more special is that this entire renovation is being led by two nonprofit organizations—Dente’s Dreamers ( Maria Dente )and Entertainment 2 Affect Change (Entertainment to Affect Change ). There isn’t a construction company with an unlimited budget behind the scenes. It’s neighbors, friends, families, volunteers, and supporters rolling up their sleeves because they believe in what The Malverne can become.

We know many of you are excited (and so are we!) and ask when the doors will officially open. The truth is... we’re getting close! We already have some exciting events on the calendar and can’t wait to welcome everyone inside. Every day brings us one step closer.

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, your donations, your volunteer hours, and for believing in this dream. This theater is being built by the community, for the community, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.

Stay tuned... the best is yet to come. ❤️🎭

Who’s the Boss? Last night, we finally got to meet him! 😉✨

After an incredible performance, we had the chance to share our dream for The Malverne and Dente’s Dreamers with Tony Danza! As a Malverne hometown favorite, we invited him to come back to the neighborhood and see the historic theater as we bring it back to life for our community.

We hope to welcome you home—and to The Malverne—very soon, Tony! ❤️🎭🎬
