This month Bonding Sound heads north into the Glasgow underground with two selectors quietly building something very interesting around the deeper, darker side of progressive music: PRINZEL & MØNTY.

Both Glasgow-based and deeply connected to the PHAZON movement, their sound moves through deep, tribal, hypnotic and progressive territory, with a serious respect for the history behind it.

Peter Prinzel has been steadily carving his path through Scotland’s underground, from Sneaky Pete’s and Passenger’s Adventures in Aviemore to La Cheetah, where he joined MØNTY for the first PHAZON editions. His trajectory continues to rise, with an upcoming appearance at SWG3 alongside Sasha.

MØNTY has been developing his own tribal-inflected sound across Glasgow and beyond, including an international debut at SASS Music Club in Vienna. His production story is also taking shape through PHAZON, with the KANSA EP exploring deep house, progressive, tribal and techno.

At the centre of it all is PHAZON - a Glasgow project inspired by the deeper, darker spirit of the legendary Twilo era. Not nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake, but a modern interpretation of that philosophy: long blends, hypnotic grooves, tension, progression and proper sound-system music.

After sharing the PHAZON journey across its first editions, August saw Prinzel & MØNTY step into their first extended B2B at PHAZON 003: INSECT.

And now that journey lands on Bonding Sound.

Recorded live. B2B. Two selectors listening, reacting, exchanging records and building the journey in real time.

No formula. No shortcuts. Just music.

Deep grooves. Tribal movement. Progressive tension. Darkness, atmosphere and plenty of space to get lost in.

Scotland has always had a serious relationship with progressive music. Prinzel & MØNTY represent another chapter - respecting the roots while pushing the sound forward in their own way.

Aurality - AUGUST 2026

The timing couldn't really be better.
I’ve just returned from 1 week of The Garden Tisno, aka Prog Heaven - Balance Festival - with a head full of music, a hard drive full of memories and, somehow, both legs functioning exactly as they should.

60K+ steps a day. All from dancing....Honestly, the best cardio workout known to man😄

Four days of sound, movement, people, conversations, connections and those little exchanges of energy that make electronic music what it is. I came back properly recharged - and this month’s Aurality feels like the perfect place to channel some of it.

The episode was recorded a few weeks ago, but the architecture was already there: the Balance ethos, that constant movement between progressive, melodic, deeper and more adventurous territory. It moves up and down, left and right, builds, releases, disappears into the shadows and eventually comes back down for a more emotional landing.

The final two tracks carry an additional weight.

They come from the exceptional producer - Nico Stojan - whose passing happened around the time of recording.
His music has been championed by some of the biggest names in the game for many years, and closing the journey with two pieces of his work felt like the only way to do it.

There’s also a particularly strong Global Underground thread running through this episode — four releases from the label’s recent catalogue, each offering another indication of where progressive and melodic house continues to evolve.

More detail. More layering. More movement. Less interest in simply following the obvious path.

And that’s really what Aurality is about.

26 selections. No filler. No genre box. Just music that belongs together.

The countdown to Tisno is officially on.

In just a few days, I’ll be heading back to Balance Festival for my second year running - and I’m already mentally somewhere between the Adriatic, the dancefloor and whatever happens after the sun goes down 😄

Balance is one of those places you don’t just attend.

You make the pilgrimage.

The music. The location. The people. The atmosphere. That completely unhinged feeling of being surrounded by thousands of people who have all travelled to the same place for exactly the same reason: to lose themselves in the music for a few days.

So, while counting down to my return to the mecca of progressive and melodic house, I’ve put together this month's Bonding Sound.
