Testing the height limits of printing super narrow clay cylinders - this one is 400mm tall, 30mm diameter and has 3 diamond shaped “insets”. I’m hoping to cut those out when the piece is drying to make a basic flute :)

Love this texture - I’m going to be documenting my process - new studio, new machines, new glazes, new techniques. Just picked up another 100lbs of Nara porcelain from and it’s turning into some pretty sweet work :)

First glaze tests with a new combo of 3d printed ceramics, and iron cascade :)

I’m finding way too much glaze running, which I attribute to a custom firing program that works great for plates, not so much for taller work.

This bowl and many other pieces still turned out super cool IMO :)

Ok - so it’s not the best lighting, but I wanted to share a new direction I’m taking my ceramic work. I love the textures on these pieces - I call the first one “noodley strudels” :)

Making marbled pottery pots is a hard skill to master. There are a lot of things you should take into account when mixing clay bodies.

1. Make sure the colors go well together.

2. Pay attention to the saturation levels and grog of different clays.

3. Blend them but don't overdo it, otherwise, you'll be left with a new homogeneous tone.

An expert blender is Jon (), he's been testing out new techniques and has now managed to have the blended effect on the outside alone.

What's your best tip when mixing clay bodies?

Do you ever look at something and feel extremely proud?

That's what these plates make me feel. I genuinely believe these are some of my best work up to now, and my heart is just full of pride.

I love this craft so much.

I love to add trimming details to my bowls and pots. Not only because it makes them look nicer, but also because when a glazed them it gets a cool effect out of the extra glaze that gets trapped in those lines.
