Continuing our trip Into the Woods, we’re taking you backstage to hear from our Scenic Charge Artist and Assistant Scenic Designer, Erica Zofcin, on how she’s felt through this show process!

“I really enjoy both of my jobs! It’s especially nice since they are in tandem with each other—both Scenic Charge Artist and Assistant Scenic Designer are focused on the show’s set, which means I get to assist with multiple parts of the process. There was a long period before the final paint design where I worked with the Director and Scenic Designer to come up with ideas that would best represent the concept of the show. It’s challenging, but it’s fun being able to collaborate and bring the director’s vision to life. I’m enjoying the process, and I’m very excited to see it all finished!

We’re thrilled to announce that Into the Woods will open our 2026–2027 season at SAU Theatre & Dance! And we want YOU to be part of the story. Auditions are open to all SAU students, faculty, and staff, as well as members of the surrounding community. No matter your major, department, or background—come audition!
