While I am sad that it is an end of an era for me (Jenna) and Express Yourself! I am super thrilled to recommend some awesome places to continue your dance journey.
Former EYM instructor Heidi will be teaching a handful of classes around the Madison area. She is incredibly welcoming and encouraging to all dancers, and super helpful for those just starting out as well. No need to be intimidated, she will make you feel RIGHT at home! Tap, Irish, Ballet, Jazz - she teaches it all!For more information, please check out her page:

Shona, our former tap and lyrical hip hop instructor (and website extraordinaire) will be teaching a intermediate/advanced level tap class at Kanopy on Tuesday nights from 8-9pm beginning Sept. 17! For more information - please e-mail Shona directly at [email protected]. Shona has such an awesome gift of pushing her students to the next level - it’s been a joy to see where her tap students started with her years ago, to where they are now. They were GREAT then - and even BETTER now. If you want to learn and grow in tap - she’s your lady!
Erin, our former Contemporary, Ballet, Teen combo, and youth combo instructor has a line-up of classes too! Wednesday evenings at kanopy - 8:30-9:30pm adult contemporary
Sunday’s 2-4:30pm Teen Technique & Performance at dance life.
For more information on tuition and enrollment please email Erin directly at [email protected]!
Erin is PHENOMENAL with Teens - and has pushed them and made them grow in ways that just blow my mind every time I see the dancers. If you have a teen wanting a fun, challenging, and supportive class -RUN to Erin! She also has a knack for pushing her adults to their fullest potential. Her contemporary drop-in filled up VERY fast each week, so don’t forget to get there early!
Papa Kobina, our former hip-hop teacher has his own studio now! He offers a bunch of classes ranging from youth hip hop, to adult contemporary and hip hop at his studio. His cozy studio is located on the West Side of town (Odana RD.) and has free parking! Papa Kobina is one of the most uplifting and kind-hearted souls I have ever met. He will make you feel confident and encouraged no matter if you’re new to dance or an experienced dancer. For youth and adult classes check out his schedule:

Lyn Pilch is still operating several classes through her dance community, Dance Fabulous! She has classes that meet at Kanopy, and classes that meet at Plan B. EveryBODY and experience level is welcomed and celebrated with her. Follow her fun line-up of classes by visiting: https://www.facebook.com/dancefabulousmadison/
Sweatshop Movement is another phenomenal resource for youth hip hop in Madison. Erika, the owner, used to rent from EYM when we were on Lake St. - and it is AMAZING to see her work with youth. You will NOT go wrong with enrolling your kids in her subversive hip hop dance classes! Check out more info here: https://www.sweat-move.org
Last but not least - of course we highly recommend Kanopy! They have been gracious hosts - and have a plethora of classes to fit your needs for youth or adults! PLEASE check out all they are up to!
