From the Bayou State to the Peach State...meet the newest hooves on the block at Georgia Safari, Frannie! Frannie, a 1.5 year old Reticulated Giraffe, joins us from Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, Louisiana.
Born on September 10, 2024, Frannie was named after Hurricane Francine, which made landfall in Louisiana just one day after her birth. Her personality starkly contrasts the origin of her name - she is described as curious, social, engaging, and creative. Her great-grandmother, Kameel, the matriarch of Global Wildlife Center's giraffe tower, is believed to be the second-oldest giraffe in North America at 33 years old.
Frannie is acclimating well as she trades Mardi Gras beads and gumbo for peaches and golf. She fits right in with Georgia Safari's giraffe tower, and we cannot wait to watch her grow. π§‘π¦
