Clearly I’ve been terrible about posting updates but here is my latest commission!

“Minnie” was painted on an 8x10 canvas with oil for my old coworker. This precious angel lived 19 happy years and was very clearly loved by her family ❤️

This year, one of my goals is to focus more on my art and to try out new mediums and subjects. Today, I picked up my sketchbook for the first time in what feels like forever and did a quick drawing of my dog, Khaleesi.

To be honest, I always get anxiety sharing my art. I am a perfectionist and am terrified of negative feedback. But this year, I am also focusing on my mental health and getting back into doing things that I enjoy. I’ve forgotten how great it feels to put a pen to paper and create something. So this is for me ❤️

This is your reminder to put yourself out there and do the scary things. Be yourself, do what makes you happy and don’t care what other people think. Let’s make 2025 our year!!!

I’m excited to share my latest memorial portrait of Dewi! My client had a reference photo that she wanted as the main painting. Unfortunately it was a little blurry but she had a bunch of other photos she sent so that I could get all of the details in this pupper’s sweet face, which was super helpful! For the background, I did some extra research so that I could bring in some more details. Overall, I think it turned out great!

The original reference photo is in the comments. A special shoutout to my client for being so amazing 🥰

“Wonton” aka one of the cutest puppers I’ve had the privilege to paint 🩵

This memorial portrait was painted on a 11x14 canvas for a family that’s very dear to me. Wonton was a playful boy who loved his green ball and stuffed toy named Howard. He’s missed dearly but I hope this painting offers some comfort and is a reminder that those we love never truly leave us 🩵

I’m so excited to finally be able to share this painting! This was painted for my coworker’s wife as a Christmas present of their two dogs Lucy and Linus, taken after their favorite hike. I am obsessed with how this turned out!

Although it adds a lot of time (and challenges), I love getting pictures with detailed backgrounds. I’m a perfectionist, so it’s a mission of mine to paint portraits that are as lifelike as possible and it was so fun to try to capture all of the details ❤️ A great reference photo makes all the difference!
