A strong arts community is one where we share opportunities, resources, and support for one another.

We wanted to highlight the Women Artists Forward Fund, a Madison-based organization doing meaningful work to support women-identifying visual artists in Dane County.

Their Forward Art Prize provides two annual, unrestricted $10,000 awards to artists—an important investment not only in individual practices, but in the strength of our creative community as a whole.

The 2026 application period has closed, but this is an organization and opportunity worth knowing about, following, and sharing. Applications open again June 1, 2027.

At American Feral Artist Services, part of our evolving mission is helping connect artists with opportunities, organizations, spaces, and one another.

Monroe Street Arts Center is currently seeking applicants to fill their Executive Director role.

Title: Executive Director
Reports to: MSAC Board
Hours: Full Time, $66,000 Annual Salary
Approximate Schedule: Flexible Full Time Schedule, Monday-Friday, 35-40 hours per week (1-3 remote days negotiable) Evenings and weekends may be required
occasionally.

The mission of the Monroe Street Arts Center is to engage a community of learners
in exploring the arts and developing the creative self.

Responsible for the overall management & growth of MSAC. This includes being a leader for the executive team, staff, and board; maintaining a positive organizational culture; overseeing the fund development program along with ensuring compliance with grantor, federal & state requirements; engaging networks and collaborations throughout the community to further MSAC’s mission. Reports to the Board of Directors.

We’re still feeling the good vibes from Spring Gallery Night. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and made it such a meaningful experience. The sense of community was undeniable, and we’re incredibly grateful to be part of it.
