Lost Lakes is a collaboration between Corey Mathew Hart and Paul Mitch. The two met during a songwriting competition held by a local radio station. It wasn't until they returned for a duets portion of the following year's competition that Corey saw Paul play bass and singing harmonies. The first time Corey and Paul played together, they clicked musically and personally. The collaboration has grown over the years, developing into a strong songwriting and production team with a focus on well-crafted tunes and tight vocal harmonies. Lost Lakes' self-titled debut record bears witness to their talents and the fact the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts. Lost Lakes’ self-titled debut album garnered national attention, landing them a couple of slots at major music festivals, including Lost Lake Festival in Phoenix and Grandoozy in Denver. Equally at home in a small club, PAC, or smaller black box theater as they are on the larger festival stages, Lost Lakes enjoy adapting to the crowd on any given night, making each performance truly unique.

Dubbed by Rolling Stone as "a genre unto herself," Brooklyn, NY-based Kaki King has proven to be just that. Her career has taken her all over the world, sharing stages with Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, contributing music to award-winning films (Sean Penn's Into The Wild), and performing at the London Jazz Festival and the Paris Les Femmes s'en Melent. Her explorations into the guitar and multimedia have led to the creation of groundbreaking work such as The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body, Modern Yesterdays, and a new multi-media musical production for children called BUGS. Kaki continues to create, perform, and lend her musical voice to the forefront of contemporary music, as shown on her 2025 EP, Tutto Passa, and recent album, SEI, the soundtrack to a unique performance piece where guitarists become dancers, coordinating their whole bodies to perform the rigors of both choreography and composition. Endorsed by Ovation Guitars, Kaki released the EP Stop Sometime last August and remains a force on the music scene, touring Italy and Germany in the fall and performing both solo and BUGS shows throughout parts of the United States into 2026, while also and scheduling yet another EP for release on February 13.

What happens when you hand a group of wildly talented writers, performers, musicians, comedians, and theatrical chaos agents a blank page and only ten days to create a show? You get Are We Delicious?! Madison’s fast-paced, joyfully unhinged original theater company that has been delighting audiences since 2012. Here’s the setup: no script, no safety net, just a theme, a ticking clock, and a hilariously fearless ensemble ready to leap into the unknown. Founded by beloved impresario Tony Trout and his partner Karen Moeller, Delicious was built on one core belief: perfection is overrated, creativity is abundant, and everybody has something brilliant, hilarious, bizarre, or deeply human to contribute.

Over the years, Delicious has created more than thirty five original productions performed all over Wisconsin, packed with comedy, drama, mystery, music, and theatrical mayhem. Every single Are We Delicious? show is built collaboratively from scratch, bringing together actors, improvisers, playwrights, musicians, comedians, poets, and even puppeteers into one gloriously creative sandbox.

In 2023, Are We Delicious? proudly returned as a cornerstone of the Madison theater scene after a hiatus that reminded us all just how important live art and community truly are. That same year, leadership officially passed from Tony and Karen to new impresario Stacey Garbarski and that agent of chaos Gina M. Gómez, two longtime collaborators and artists dedicated to carrying the company’s wonderfully unhinged spirit into its next chapter. Their mission is simple: keep creating bold, original theater. Keep taking risks. Keep making space for new artists. Keep making space for those artists to surprise themselves. Keep making audiences laugh,

Richard Shindell lives as both an immigrant and emigrant, crossing thresholds, that informs his illumination of the human experience through narrative song. Shindell has inhabited a Zen Buddhist monastery and busked in the streets of Paris.

Originally from New York, now living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Shindell is a writer whose songs paint pictures, tell stories, juxtapose ideas and images, inhabit characters, vividly evoking entire worlds along the way and expanding our sense of just what it is a song may be. Meticulously recorded over three years in New York and Buenos Aires, his most recent release, Careless, offered an ambitious, luxurious, full- length statement. Shindell immersed himself in the studio, allowing the time and latitude to explore, experiment, take risks—to play—as each of these eleven songs was given form and substance. While his signature acoustic guitar style is used to good effect, Careless also found Shindell plugging in more. “The wider sonic and dynamic range of the electric has been a real inspiration. Rejuvenating.”

During the pandemic, Shindell stayed in Argentina, out on the wide open Pampa, reading, writing, taking walks, doing a little experimental recording, and tending the garden. He now returns to the road for a limited number of performances. Innovative, original and occasionally spiritual, Shindell’s songs weave tales that interchangeably champion the downtrodden, exalt the disaffected or wax empathetic to those lost to society’s fringes. From lighthearted ballads and adulterous love songs, to dirges and diatribes that skillfully skewer politics, prejudice, war and religion, to the comic point-of-view of a cow stuck in a barbed wire fence, he has a unique ability to morph into the soul of the many and varied personalities he casts as narrators in certain songs—veritable novellas framed in haunting acoustic melodies.

✨ Just Announced ✨ Kiah is coming back to The Bur Oak on November 12!

On her new album Still + Bright, Tennessee-bred singer/songwriter Amythyst Kiah explores the vast expanse of her inner world: her deep-rooted affinity for Eastern philosophies and spiritual traditions, a near-mystical connection with the natural environment, the life lessons learned in her formative years as a self-described “anime-nerd mall goth,” and much more. Produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Green Day, Weezer) and recorded at his Nashville studio, Kiah’s second full-length for Rounder Records merges her revelatory storytelling with a darkly cinematic twist on the rootsy alt-rock of her 2021 breakthrough Wary + Strange—an LP that landed on Rolling Stone’s list of the 25 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2021 and drew acclaim from major outlets like Pitchfork. With its sonic palette encompassing everything from fuzzed-out guitars and industrial-leaning beats to gilded pedal steel and Kiah’s exquisitely graceful banjo work, Still + Bright makes for a vital new addition to a body of work largely dedicated to exploring the struggle and joy of true self-discovery.

What kind of music do you play? Folk, soul, country, in between the cracks, on the edges - roots, rock, reggae. Sean Hayes is a crooner, a wailer and an escape artist. He plays songs to get you dancing, sipping, dreaming and falling.

Born in New York, raised in North Carolina, with over 30 years playing music in California’s Bay Area you can hear a bit of all of these places flowing through the songwriting and his singular voice.

These influences are reflected in the many different musicians Sean has played with over the years. From singing duets with Aimiee Mann and Frazey Ford to touring with Charley Crockett, Jolie Holland, The Wood Brothers, Ani DeFranco and The Cold War Kids among many others. His songs have been remixed by renowned House DJ Mark Farina and have appeared on NPR, NBC and HBO. Dress it up however you like it’s just a night of good music.

Tommy Oeffling makes his music in a bedroom on the second floor of a rather unassuming duplex in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and you can tell. You can hear every step he takes, every creak of his chair, every flubbed guitar part, and every breath he takes in his recordings, and he likes it that way. He wants it to feel human, and purely from himself and his upbringing; his music calls back to the CDs his Dad burnt onto an iPod Nano gifted to him for Christmas when he was eleven, and he feels it’s supposed to. Some call it nostalgic. He can’t tell. He also doesn’t really care.

He’s currently in school to be a high school history teacher. He likes cooking dinner for his friends and going on half marathon-long walks a whole lot more than music. And you can tell that, as well. Some call it slacker rock, and they’re not wrong. His music comes across as if he just so happened to make it, and that’s exactly what makes it.

His new album, “Picture of Health,” is out June 6th, 2025. Its ten tracks total to a mere 34 minutes, and its theme is just as simple; it’s really nothing more than an album about being twenty, made by a twenty-year-old. And you can tell.
