Issis Macias & Jessica M. Gutiérrez have curated a chingonsismo show!! This is months in the making and I’m so honored and grateful to be alongside other Latina artists from our state.
I’m showing two works that are deeply personal but touch on topics that I’ve held deeply: Motherhood, women’s health, & matriarchy. Our curators prompted us to think about what empowers us to rise from the ashes. After weeks of thinking I had nothing. I found a set that I thought I’d never share. Photos meant to heal and close a circle for me. Photos just for me. But no, this is honestly the best way for these images to be seen and held. Issis and Jessica, thank you for creating this space for these works. I’m so excited to see the rest of the works!
Exhibit run is 9/15-10/15 at Madison College Truax Campus Gallery.
