Lakewood Theater's Young Performers Camp The Lakewood Young Performers Camp offers children the opportunity to grow creatively in a professional and welcoming environment.

The Lakewood Young Performers Camp offers children the opportunity to grow creatively in a professional theater setting. A non-residential day camp at Lakewood Theater, the nation’s oldest summer theater, YPC is open to youth 5 – 18 years old who want to learn theater craft from theater professionals. Every camper will perform in costume and make-up before a set and an audience. During the day, th

e campers will be instructed in acting, improvisation, movement, stage make-up, costuming, set construction, voice, dance and auditioning. In addition to learning theater craft, the program has been designed to teach children the importance of working together as a team, with emphasis on group activities that build skills in communication, decision-making, coping and physical mobility. Camp sessions are held Monday through Friday starting at 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. with a public performance of the play on the Saturday at the end of the session. Recreation will be provided every day. Teen, Tech, and Tour- Ages 13+

Our Teen Camp will tackle The Addams Family Musical: School Edition, a high-energy production that encourages performers to explore character, comedy, and ensemble storytelling!

We are so excited for you to join us for some PARLOR GAMES. We do need to be careful; we really don’t want any JAILBIRDS to show up! Oh, and please be wary of Monty Navarro, he is always bragging about his new project, A GENTLEMEN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. Thank goodness with everything going on most people won’t even have a CLUE that even though it is the middle of the summer the Dinkel Family is already planning for Christmas with their take on A TEXAS CAROL. Oh, and bless my heart will you look at those CURTAINS! They absolutely sing!
Oh wait, I almost forgot, we need to hurry or we’ll be late for OUR TOWN meeting which just happens to have a very important issue to vote on concerning THE SECOND TO LAST CHANCE LADIES LEAGUE! I hate going to these things, all the fancy officials make me feel like THE VILLAGE IDIOT. Thank you for supporting me through it all. Without you I don’t think I would survive!
