Most pole students prefer low-rise/spandex shorts because it allows for the most mobility. However you should wear the type of shorts in which you're most comfortable.
→A tank top or sports bra**. We need to have a lot of skin exposed (legs, arms, torso), as you need to stick to the pole.
***Undergarments (as in lingerie-style) are not appropriate primary workout attire and you will not be allow
ed to participate if wearing such undergarments.

Please arrive at least between 5 and 10 minutes prior to class start time. If you are late by more than 10 minutes, you will not be admitted for that class. This is for your safety as well as respect for those that did arrive on time.

☺What if I don't have any dance background or upper body strength?
→You're definitely encouraged to come to class. Lots of students that started in pole will have the same beginner story, so you're in good company.
☺So are we wearing heels?
→You may bring a pair with you as some class choreography would look AMAZING in heels. Be sure your heels have some kind of ankle strap to keep them on your feet.
☺What else should I know?
→DO NOT WEAR LOTION!! This is a safety hazard as you need solid grip on the poles.
→DO NOT WEAR JEWELRY!! Rings and bracelets WILL scratch the poles. If any of your jewelry cannot be removed, you must put a cover on it to keep it secure and to protect the finish of the poles.
→Please respect the decorations in the dance studio. Auntie Cielo (owner of Tamarii O Ra'i Madison Polynesian Dance Studio) carefully displays culturally significant dance accessories. Look but don't touch!
☺Do you have a waiver I need to sign?
→I'm so glad you thought to ask....YES WE DO!! Manual sheets will be available to complete upon arrival of your first class.
