For more than 40 years, Concerts on the Square has brought Madison together through music, community, and tradition. Each summer, thousands gather on the Capitol lawn for six unforgettable evenings of live music, completely free and open to all.

But this tradition doesn’t happen on its own.

Concerts on the Square costs more than $1.1 million each year to produce, and community support makes it possible. There is STILL time to DOUBLE your donation! Thanks to a generous $25,000 matching gift from American Family Insurance, every donation made through June 15 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

We're honored to be a part of such a fun collaboration with Madison hip-hop artist Rob Dz this summer! Check out this interview with Rob by Madison 365 where he talks about the collaboration and what his Concerts on the Square performance on July 1, "United in Sound", means to him.

When he was first starting out as a performing artist, Rob Franklin’s mom used to tell him, “You're going to play on stages that you never imagined.” That prophecy will certainly come true this summer, as Franklin - better known as Rob Dz - will perform with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WC...

What if your favorite summer tradition didn’t exist? What if the music went quiet?

For more than 40 years, Concerts on the Square has brought our community together. Music across the Capitol lawn. Picnic blankets and wine with friends. Families sharing live music under the sunset sky. For six summer evenings, the lawn becomes a place where everyone belongs.

Concerts on the Square is free and open to all, but it takes more than $1.1 million each year to bring this tradition to life. It happens because this community continues to show up year after year. Right now, every gift made through June 15 will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to a generous $25,000 match from American Family Insurance.

Different styles. Different stories. One place to take it all in, together. There’s nothing like live music in a room full of people. You feel it, you share it, and every night is a little different.

Come as you are and experience a season that covers a lot of ground, from a full-stage collaboration with Madison Ballet and cellist Amit Peled to the intimate yet powerful sound of Ana Vidovic on guitar. You’ll hear returning soloists, bold new works, familiar favorites, and the timeless tradition of Messiah. Big moments, small moments, and plenty in between – all better when we share it together.
