Audition for Madison Public Theatre's next show, WINTERTIME, on November 18th and 19th!
A sweet, dreamy, romantic comedy from the world of The Winter's Tale and The Cherry Orchard and Moliere and Magritte, this is the perfect show for the Valentine's season 💞.
Jonathan loves Ariel. His mother, Maria, loves Francois. Frank, Maria’s husband and Jonathan’s father, loves Maria and his lover, Edmund. Bertha and Hilda, outspoken le***an lovers, join the group, along with the composter guy and Dr. Benoit. Members of this gloriously eccentric family arrive at their summer house in the winter woods for supposedly secret rendezvous – and soon bodies collide, doors slam, dishes fly, and everyone’s perfect plans go fantastically awry.
WHEN and WHERE::
Auditions will be from 6:30 to 9:00 at the Bartell Community Theatre (113 E Mifflin St).
Individuals can sign up for 10 min time slots. Prepare a 2 min contemporary comedic monologue (not required, but encouraged), and there may be readings from the script as well.
Wednesday, 11/20, will be call-backs starting at 7:00 with overflow individual auditions before.
The list of characters in Wintertime is large (there are 10 roles) and we hope to cast it with a diverse range of ages, abilities, ethnicity, and gender presentation. All are encouraged to audition. No parts are pre-cast.
Please bring your calendar and be prepared to list all scheduling conflicts for the production period December 15 - February 22. Rehearsals will be Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 - 9:30.
