The power of intention is real, according to the Law of Attraction. When we focus our thoughts and actions, we can achieve our goals. Rich Brown of put this philosophy into practice when went forward with his design of the Boss base, aiming to make pottery more accessible. This artist's testimony is a beautiful manifestation of that vision. Unfortunately, we missed her name, but if you know her, please share it with us so we can send her some love and support for her artistic endeavors.

Experiencing a full circle moment can be truly remarkable. In 2009, I bid on a government contract for art but lost to two other artists, one of whom is now a good friend, from Newnan, Georgia. Fast forward to 2021, I had the opportunity to curate “The Martin Pate Experience” at De Sousa Slay, a gallery I helped create in Newnan.

Until this morning, I was unaware that our paths had crossed 12 years earlier. To add to this surreal experience, I am currently finishing my Master’s of Science in Acquisition & Contract Management at , where I am learning how to offer creative services and products to federal and local governments.

Staying on your path can lead to unexpected and meaningful connections.

"Love is Love: Uncertain Certainty" 40x30
acrylic, pencil, ink, marker on cradled aluminum panel
Painted live and auctioned during the AFCEA - Huntsville Chapter Autumn Gala. At the winning bidder's request, I took this piece home to my studio and added highlights and accents in different shades of blue. She also requested small stars. I ghosted in a few other elements that can only be seen when the lights hit them at certain angles, and a few that glow in the dark.
I started this piece with an idea of what I wanted to do. The keynote speaker, retired Army officer Joe Heyman PhD, began his speech and delved into the direction of AI responsibility and accountability. During a conversation with one of the attendees, they told me that AI lacked feelings and empathy. This changed the direction of what I was doing. This piece became a conversation about the uncertain certainty of love and the emotions and feelings it encompasses.
