New Dance Moves for May

Is your brain chronically overstuffed with figures? Ever blanked when you had to navigate the floor? Ladies, want a little more depth to make your dancing sparkle?

We’re going to try something different this month for our group class. We’ve put together a mini-routine of great, competition-ready, beginner-friendly, Bronze figures for everyone to work on. We’ll cover the patterns as well technique, styling, alignments, timing—all that good stuff. And we will keep working on it for the month of March until we’re all super comfortable with it!

It’s a nice little sequence that we hope will make you more at ease on the social dance floor AND a handy thing to have in your back pocket if you ever need a routine for a comp or showcase. Cause ya just never know! So come dive right in with some delightful Foxtrot to get your week rolling along beautifully.

Enter through the blue door, in the back (of course), go upstairs, through the Jiu Jitsu school. and down the hallway to an amazing dance hall, filled with great music and wonderful people.

Studio update!

-Applause is very much open, despite some rumors to the contrary. While we are building out the new space, we continue to use our existing location at 551 Ridgecrest in Madison. If you’re there during the day, you may see construction work on the rest of the building, but that has not affected evening activities, and it has not affected our dance space.

-The new location on Lakeland Cove is not ready yet…but it’s coming along! Our goal right now is to finish relocating the bathrooms off to the side instead of in the middle of the dance floor. Once we tend to the necessities of a functional space, we will be certain that it is beautifully and comfortably finished out.

-The future studio is located at 3010 Lakeland Cove in Flowood. It’s roughly the size of the current space—about 62’ x 47’, plus another 300 ft2 with bathrooms off to the side. And I know many of you will be delighted to know that it is downstairs and fully accessible!

-We will keep you updated on the exact date of the move. We should be in the new location no later than July 1, and we are hoping that we will be in as soon as June 1. Fingers crossed! No matter what, there WILL be a place for everyone to dance, and the transition between one studio and the other should be seamless. The only thing you will need to do is update your address book!

TLDR:
Applause Dance Factory is NOT closed during construction. 💃✨
We are still open, classes are continuing, and our dancers are working hard as always!
Yes, we’re moving into an exciting new space, but it’s business as usual while we grow and upgrade for YOU. Thank you for your patience and support during this time—it means everything to us!
